  2. How can I send a file for printing?

You may e-mail us a small file or use Petro-Tech’s FTP login. Speak with a Petro-Tech Sales Associate for more details.

  3. Can you deliver to my office?

Yes and shipping is free for our customers within the downtown core. For those outside of downtown there is a small fee. Our in-house delivery service guarantees your project will we picked up or delivered on time!

  4. Why do the printed colours look different from my screen version?

A printing press uses a smaller colour comet consisting of 4 inks, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black to reproduce colour. Monitors display colours using RGB. While it is nearly impossible to match the colour you see on screen to the colour you see on print, using a pantone colour code will help you get closer to the colour you want on the printed file.

  5. What is a PDF file?

PDF stands for Portable Document Format and is generated by Adobe Acrobat. If you need to open a PDF file visit www.adobe.com/reader and download the Adobe Acrobat Reader.

  6. What is a bleed?

Bleed is a printing term that refers to printing that goes beyond the edge of the sheet after trimming. In other words, the bleed is the area to be trimmed off. Creating a file with a bleed ensures the once your project is printed that no line will show on any edges. We recommended building files with a bleed of 1/8th of an inch.

  7. What types of paper stock do you carry?

Petro-Tech carries a wide array of paper stock for any print project. From matte and gloss to linens and vinyl, simply speak with one of our Sales Associates about the stock you are looking for and we will be glad to help you find what you are looking for.

  8. What is the turnaround for my job?

Turnaround times depend on a number of factors namely the type of job and how busy we are at the time. Simply let one of our sales people know when you need your job and we can give you a realistic timeline to make sure you get the completed project exactly when you need it.
